The Stable School is delighted to announce the official opening of its new dedicated Key Stage 4 campus, providing learners in Years 10 and 11 with an inspiring learning environment designed to support greater independence, specialist teaching and preparation for adulthood.
The new campus marks an exciting milestone in the school’s continued growth and commitment to delivering exceptional education for young people with special educational needs. Having welcomed learners full time from 6 May, the purpose-designed site offers a range of specialist facilities that will enrich the curriculum and create new opportunities for learning.
The campus features four modern teaching classrooms, a dedicated science laboratory, specialist art room, teaching catering kitchen and an ICT suite equipped with eight computers, enabling learners to access a broad and engaging curriculum in high-quality learning spaces. Learners also benefit from outdoor paddock space, with further developments planned, alongside dedicated areas for lunch and social time.
The move to the new campus has been carefully planned to ensure learners felt supported throughout the transition. Staff worked closely with learners and families through visits, open events and phased familiarisation, helping everyone to become confident in their new surroundings before making the permanent move.
The dedicated Key Stage 4 environment has been designed to reflect the needs of older learners, providing a calmer setting that encourages independence while supporting the school’s Preparation for Adulthood curriculum. Alongside specialist subject teaching, learners will continue to develop the knowledge, confidence and life skills needed for their future education, employment and adult life.
As the school continues to expand, the new campus also provides additional capacity and enhanced facilities that will benefit current and future learners, ensuring The Stable School can continue delivering highly personalised education in an environment tailored to their individual needs.
School Principal Denise Carpenter said:
“The opening of our new Key Stage 4 campus is a hugely exciting moment for The Stable School and our entire school community. We wanted to create an environment that reflects the maturity of our older learners while providing specialist facilities that support an ambitious and engaging curriculum. The new campus gives our learners greater opportunities to develop independence, practical skills and confidence as they prepare for the next stage of their lives. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved and it has been wonderful to see how positively our learners have embraced their new learning environment.”
The opening of the campus represents another significant step in The Stable School’s development, reinforcing its commitment to providing outstanding educational experiences that enable every learner to thrive, achieve and prepare successfully for adulthood.
